20 No Yeast Breads

In the midst of this Coronavirus Pandemic often there is no yeast in the store. In answer to that here are 20 recipes for No Yeast Breads – from loaves to flatbreads to wraps to biscuits.

There are a few tried and true ways to make bread without using commercial yeast. One is to use baking soda, sometimes combined with baking powder. Another is to use beer as your liquid and the yeast in the beer will do the work. Another is to forego any yeast at all as in some flatbreads and wraps.

Another bonus is these ‘quick’ breads don’t require any kneading or rise time. Most can be be in about 1 hour start to finish.

Sourdough is a whole category on its own, which uses as ‘starter’ made from flour and water and ferments using wild yeast in the flour and atmosphere.
