Beer Bread

No yeast or rising required. Beer and baking powder give it the rise. Take your sandwiches to new heights with this simple loaf pan recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsps sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 12 oz beer
  • 2 Tbsps unsalted butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9" X 5" loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Mix all the dry ingredients in a medium size bowl. Stir the beer and the honey into the dry mixture.
  • Just mix until there are no pockets of dry flour. Do not overmix.
  • Transfer the dough to your loaf pan. Brush the melted butter on top of the loaf.
  • Bake 50-60 minutes. Check after 50 minutes if a toothpick in various places comes out clean. The top should be lightly golden brown. If you are using a smaller loaf pan you may need closer to 60-65 minutes.
  • Allow loaf to cool before slicing.
