Garlic Steamed Broccoli

This Garlic Steamed Broccoli is a great side dish for an Asian inspired menu.

Ingredients

  • 1 head broccoli
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon pure sesame oil

Instructions

  • Trim bottom of broccoli stalks. Peel the tough skin off the main stalk, Rinse broccoli well and cut stalks into spears about 3" long.
  • Bring water in a steamer to boil with the clove of garlic. Add broccoli to steamer and steam about 7 minutes.
  • While broccoli is steaming, toast sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium high heat. (about 7 minutes but watch carefully).
  • Transfer broccoli spears to a serving plate and drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
