The Liquor store gods continue to smile on us with the LCBO Vintages Release of March 16, 2019. Some exceptional value wines in many categories – sweet wine, Ports, Southern France. We are talking mid-90 scores for under $30 in many cases.
The Aug 4, 2018 LCBO Vintages Release is padded with 90+ scoring wines under $25. There are a number of high scoring good value Chardonnays, including a Burgundian Chardonnay hailing from very close to Pouilly- Fuissé and one from Leaning Post Wines who just were awarded a Platinum medal for one of their Chardonnays by the National Wine Awards of Canada.
Leaning Post was one of 3 Ontario wineries to win National Wine Awards Canada Platinum in the Chardonnay category for their Leaning Post Chardonnay Wismer Foxcroft Vineyard 2015. So – not the Platinum winner on offer but I am curious to try the Leaning Post The Fifty Chardonnay 2015.

There is also a controversial Tuscan Red scored at 99 points for $28.95. Continue reading “Wine Picks LCBO Release Nov 11, 2017”
