  • 6cups filtered waterdivided 4 + 2
  • 2cups fresh strawberries(can substitute frozen)
  • 1cup basilloosely packed
  • 1/4cup maple syrup(or raw honey)
  • 2Tbsps fresh gingerminced
  • 1/4cup apple cider vinegarmust say with the mother
  1. Clean and hull the strawberries. Add strawberries, ginger and maple syrup to the blender. Blend about 25 seconds, going from low to high speed.
  2. Pour into a 1/2 gallon container. Add the remaining water, vinegar and basil. Stir.
  3. Cover with a lid and a tea towel. Leave it at room temperature for 24 hours, then refrigerate overnight. The mix will get stronger in the fridge.
  4. Strain and pour into glass bottles. Keep refrigerated up to two weeks.
  5. Serve over ice.
Recipe Notes

Note:  Resting at room temperature increases the probiotic content.  You don’t have to do this.  You can blend and mix and serve right away or refrigerate right away.
