  • 2lbs beef stewing meat
  • 2Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 6medium potatoespeeled and cubed
  • 2yellow onionsrough chopped
  • 3 carrotspeeled and cut into chunks
  • 2 turnipspeeled and cubed
  • 1cup frozen peas
  • 1200 ml can diced tomatoes(7 oz)
  • 1can condensed tomato soup
  • 1284 ml jar Patak’s Vindaloo curry pasteuse 1/2 the jar if you want less heat
  • 2cups water
  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet and brown the beef over high heat. Do not crowd the beef. Brown in batches if necessary.
  2. Add all the stew ingredients to the slow cooker except the peas.
  3. Mix all the sauce ingredients and pour over the stew.
  4. Cook on low heat 7-8 hours. Add the peas 1 hour before serving.
  5. Serve over rice if desired to reduce the spiciness.
